Oxford Woman Died in Georgian Road Accident on I-20

A 39-year-old woman from Oxford, Alabama, identified as Brandy Rodgers, was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision on Interstate 20 in Georgia. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Rodgers was driving a white Honda when her vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer.

The accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on July 24, resulting in the closure of all westbound lanes just beyond the Carrollton Street exit. Traffic was diverted off the highway at State Route 61, leading to significant delays extending east of the Tyson Road overpass. U.S. 78, which parallels I-20, also saw increased congestion as drivers sought alternate routes.

As of now, all westbound lanes have been reopened. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash, and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
