Small Earthquake Hits Georgia Early Thursday Morning
An earthquake struck Georgia early Thursday morning, just before 2 a.m., near the town of Eton, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Eton is located just south of the Tennessee border.
The earthquake registered a magnitude of 2.4 and occurred at a depth of 9.2 kilometers. According to Severe Weather Team 2, earthquakes with a magnitude below 3.0 are usually not felt by most people.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage related to the earthquake.
